Rewilding built environments

Rewilding es el acto de volver salvaje un espacio que ha dejado de serlo por la acción constructiva del hombre. Nuestro objetivo es naturalizar las ciudades reintroduciendo espacios vivos sobre los construidos. MataAlta es un estudio de diseño regenerativo liderado por Sergio Carratalá en Barcelona desde 2018. Nuestro trabajo se caracteriza por una fuerte sensibilidad medioambiental y social, proyectamos espacios integrando biofilia, paisajismo, arquitectura, urbanismo e ingeniería con soluciones basadas en la naturaleza. Somos seres vivos y necesitamos ecosistemas sanos donde habitar y amar.

Rewilding is the act of returning something to its original savage state that has ceased to exist due to the intervention of man. We aim to naturalize cities by reintroducing living spaces into them. MataAlta is a design studio led by Sergio Carratalá and established in Barcelona in 2018. Our work is characterized by a strong environmental and social sensitivity. We design spaces integrating biophilia, landscaping, architecture, urban planning, and engineering with nature-based solutions. We are living beings that need healthy ecosystems to live and love.
